Vacation is Over, Back to Reality

In my last post (which was entirely too long ago *blush*) I mentioned we were going on a vacation. We got back this past Sunday after spending eight days in Charleston, South Carolina. It was great. Awesome seafood, awesome sightseeing, and some really awesome bead shops! I spent way more $$$ than I intended, but I found a couple of really nice stores that had a great selection, great prices, and I had nothing but time (wish I also had nothing but $$$). My husband would drop me off at the shop, and he'd go do something he wanted to do (like find the nearest Honda dealer to order a part ??), then he'd come back for me when I finished, or when he finished, whichever came first. One of the stores, Beads on Cannon, was so great that I went there twice! When we got home, I dumped out all of the beads I purchased. Oh, be still my heart, how I love playing with beads. The only downside is they have to be entered into inventory before I get to play with them. That took three days (not three full days, three days of when I could find time while Emma napped). I did finally make one pair of earrings
and got them listed on etsy. After that, my studio was in such a mess, today I spent over six hours cleaning the studio. You can finally see surfaces, YAY! I'm too pooped now to try to be creative, that'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Vacation ???

As many of you know, after working 30 years as a software engineer and taking an early retirement last year, on Jahuary 24th I was blessed with an absolutely precious granddaughter, Emma Kate. After my daughter's six week maternity leave was over, I've been keeping Emma every day while her parents work. What a joy!! I now get to experience the moments I missed out on when I had my daughter and had to return to work after 6 weeks.

My son-in-law's family spends one week every summer at the beach, which means that week I won't have Emma. My husband and I talked about maybe going on a little vacation ourselves, but then I had a marvelous thought --- I've always wanted to take a week-long class at the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, located in northern Georgia. I looked up the classes being offered that week and there were three that I was interested in. My husband said he had no problem if I took a little time off for myself, so I logged in to sign up. During the application process there was a note stating they strongly advised contacting the school first to find out if the class is available. I sent an email asking about my first two choices. Sorry, they're full, they replied, so I asked about my third choice. Also full !

So my dream of spending a week at the Holland School will have to be put on hold for now. Which means my husband is stuck with me after all. Now to figure out where to go :-)

Oops, missed a Treasury !

Somehow I skipped over this other treasury. It's a wonderful one with all things garden-related, and it features my Garden Keychain.

Latest etsy Treasuries

I've been busy the last few days so I haven't have a chance to update my blog. I found two listings featured in treasuries on etsy and thought I'd share.

The first treasury is titled "All Brown" and features my Gold Y Necklace with Green, Brown, Cream Semi-Precious Beads from my "Heart of the Serengeti" collection.

Woke up way too early this morning, and found I was featured in another treasury. Great way to start the day. This treasury is titled "Shades Of Green By The CSRA Team" and features my Ceiling Fan Pull Beaded with Green and Brown Beads & Gold Chain.
